PFLAG Academy Online: April 2025

In tough times, having difficult conversations with our friends, family, colleagues, and community is more important than ever. But staying kind in the face of unkind behavior, bad faith arguments, and conflict is extremely difficult for even the best of us.

Join us this Wednesday for our April PFLAG Academy Online virtual session, “Be Kind, Even When It’s Tough”, on Wednesday, April 30th at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT.

Participants will solidify their skills in managing complex moments of tension while still treating others with kindness. We’ll discuss multiple nuanced real-world scenarios where kindness can be deeply transformative in this highly interactive learning session.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

We won’t sugarcoat it: 2025 has been a frightening, exhausting, and emotionally-trying year for our LGBTQ+ community—and it’s only May. Our strength and resilience against political attacks will see us through these dark times, but it’s impossible to face so much uncertainty without a significant cost to our mental health.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month—let’s take this time to refill our cups with some powerful truths:

You are not alone. You are loved. You matter. Your feelings are valid. We are here for you. It is okay to ask for help.

Do not neglect your mental health: Visit pflag.org/Mental-Health-Resources for a list of mental health resources, and if you need immediate assistance or are in crisis, the first link will take you to our list of support hotlines.

We’ve got this. We’ve got us. 🫶🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
