John, April has been a busy month for our team, and we have no plans to slow down any time soon.
➡️ We kicked the month off by joining a bipartisan town hall hosted by CNN, and I stood firm as my Republican colleagues tried to frame the billionaire-first budget as good for the American people.
➡️ Once the House gaveled out, we came back home to the 5th District and met with stakeholders in every part of the state, including labor leaders in Meriden and Farmington, young leaders from Newtown, Naugatuck, and Stamford, healthcare professionals and community advocates in Danbury, and nutrition advocates at UCONN and in Waterbury.
➡️ I have continued to stay vocal about the gross miscarriages of justice that we are seeing from the Trump administration. Whether at home or in D.C., I will not stay silent as this administration defies orders and attacks the American people.
I cannot lie, John, with everything going on, I have been a little less focused on our fundraising goals. The chaos is meant to distract, and I have to spend so much of my time reassuring people who are scared of what is next: that we are working hard on their behalf. Can I count on you to make a contribution and give us the boost we need to close the books in April?

Falling short here leaves our team vulnerable to attacks on our work from the White House, the GOP, and the groups looking to flip this seat.
Defending my record and our work can be expensive, but if this grassroots team is strong, we will be able to navigate any challenge that comes our way.
Thank you for standing with me,
Jahana Hayes
