J Street

Dear Friends,

Twenty years ago, Israelis and Palestinians who had each lost loved ones to the conflict came together to create something extraordinary: A joint Memorial Day ceremony. They chose to mourn together and work to build a future grounded in empathy, dignity and peace for both peoples.

In that spirit, we invite you to attend a local Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony this Sunday, May 4 at 4pm at Tifereth Israel Congregation in Washington, DC.

PLEASE RSVP HERE

The Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony – led by Combatants for Peace and The Parents Circle–Families Forum in Israel/Palestine – is the largest peace event ever jointly organized by Israelis and Palestinians. This powerful gathering stands as a beacon of hope, offering an open and courageous space where people from both communities come together to mourn, resist division and choose hope in the face of despair.

We invite you to join us in a local expression of that solidarity. Together, we’ll watch videos from the International Joint Memorial Day Ceremony, hear moving reflections from Palestinian and Israeli voices in our community, and engage in small-group conversations to share, process and connect.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Warmly,

Allie Berg
Deputy Regional Director, DC, Maryland & Virginia, J Street
