Meetings Across the 7th District
Thank you to the lovely people at the Norsk Coffeehouse. What a great way to start a busy day.
I met with staff from Grygla Public Schools to discuss federal funding concerns, primarily Title I and the Rural Education Achievement Program. Both of these are non-competitive funding programs that the Trump Administration has indicated will likely not be impacted as they root out the waste, fraud, and abuse taking place within the Department of Education.
In Ada, I joined the Red River Watershed Board meeting to hear about what they’ve been working on and what Congress can do to support their work.
Thank you to New Flyer for the tour and for sharing your thoughts on tariffs, the Bus Rolling Stock Modernization Act, and the importance of extending the corporate income tax rates for employers like you.
Thank you to the Alluma staff and everyone who joined our discussion from the community. And thank you for the support your transitional housing provides for those navigating mental health and substance abuse issues.
At Polaris, I had a good conversation with a number of staff regarding unnecessary regulations, tariffs, and the need for more housing and childcare in the area for their company to grow. This year, I introduced the Investing In Rural America Act to drive investment into our rural communities.
I had a nice time touring Homark and learning more about their manufactured homes, which can be found all over the country.
Thank you to everyone from Kittson Health for taking the time to meet with me and sharing your priorities. I look forward to continuing to support you by cutting unnecessary regulations and fighting against the misguided nursing staff ratio mandated by the last administration that threatens our rural care facilities.
I met with Northwest Beverages to discuss tax policies for Main Street, tariffs, and trade. Did you know that independent beer distributors like theirs are local, family-owned, and contribute over $30 billion to the U.S. economy every year?
