C3-C4 Board Actions

The People's Alliance strongly supports more funding and expansion of the HEART program in Durham. Our full position can be found on the PA Blog (scroll down). The Education Action Team will be seeking more information about a model for HEART in the schools. Look for more on this soon.

The budget requests to the City Council and County Commission were sent in March. Letters to both elected boards can be found HERE (scroll down).

The Board of Education voted in support of the Meet and Confer Policy in April. This is a policy endorsed by both the PA Education team and the full board.

Reform of Cannabis Laws Issue Forum

Join PA members and our movement partners at an Issues forum on May 19th.  The featured speaker is Senator Natalie Murdock (district 20).  She recently proposed very robust legislation on the legalization of marijuana.

The Senator will be joined by local advocates and families who have been negatively impacted by cannabis laws. Come out to this free event; snacks will be provided.
