John,
Last week, we held a packed Town Hall meeting with over 300 people, where everyday people went home organized and ready to fight back against this authoritarian administration.
From sending postcards and making phone calls into swing districts, urging voters to reject the relentless attacks on programs like Medicaid, to training the next generation of leaders to organize their communities and run for office, we are not backing down.
Much of our work is powered by my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC, which I created to empower everyday people and to train candidates to run for office who have the lived experience to fight for our communities.
I know this is a scary moment for all of us. Attacks on our rights and our very livelihoods are upending all of our lives.
If you can, please donate to my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today to power our ongoing work fighting back against this administration and fighting for our very survival.

We will not back down in the face of these attacks. Together, we are organized and fighting back.
In solidarity,
Rashida

John,
With relentless attacks on our healthcare, nutrition, housing, public education, and other essential services, as well as our rights to free speech and due process, this is an all-hands-on-deck moment. We need to take collective action in defense of our communities.
My team and I have held multiple Town Halls with hundreds of attendees to come together and resist this authoritarian administration.
We’re also fighting back against Congressional Republicans’ dangerous budget, which will cut $880 billion from Medicaid to pay for even more tax cuts for billionaires.
This week and next, we’re sending thousands of postcards and holding HANDS OFF Medicaid phonebanks to connect with people in our neighboring congressional district, represented by Republican Congressman John James. We’re mobilizing his constituents because we can protect life-saving programs like Medicaid if we can move three to four Republican members of Congress to flip their votes.
And soon we’ll be launching our 2025 Youth Civic Engagement Fellowship to train young (primarily BIPOC*) activists and leaders in community organizing, including providing stipends to participants.
Can you rush a donation today to power our ongoing work to mobilize our communities and resist this authoritarian administration? Pitch in and support my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today.
I created my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC to empower everyday people in our democracy and to train candidates to run for office who have the lived experience to represent our communities.
This month, we wrapped up our first Rooted in Community Campaign School of 2025, where we trained 19 progressive candidates from diverse backgrounds to run for office.
Too often, elected officials are millionaires who are disconnected from the everyday realities of their constituents. Last month, Trump’s *billionaire* Commerce Secretary said that if Social Security checks didn’t go out, his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain. He also said the only people who would complain are fraudsters.
This administration, led by the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, is completely divorced from the reality that our communities face as we live paycheck to paycheck and work two or three jobs just to put food on our tables and keep a roof over our heads.
I know this is a difficult time for all of us. If you can, donate today to power the resistance needed to defend our communities from an authoritarian takeover of our democracy.
