NHCDP Town Hall With Council of State Candidates




 

When: Monday, June 15th, 7 p.m.

Meet Four Council of State Candidates in one Town Hall!

 

North Carolina has an historic opportunity with this diverse slate of candidates to manage key functions of our state administration and to support our Governor, Roy Cooper.  Learn more about them here, and join us online to hear from each candidate directly.

 

Ronnie Chatterji – Treasurer  #TheNerdWeNeed #RonnieforNC

As the chief financial officer and official banker, the treasurer bears responsibility for managing the finances of the entire state including the management of the $74.2 billion state employee’s pension fund and approval of municipal and state bonds.

Wayne Goodwin - Commissioner of Insurance  #WG4NC

The commissioner of insurance acts as head of the Department of Insurance, serves on the Council of State, and is State Fire Marshall. It is now responsible for a number of areas, including regulating the insurance industry, licensing insurance professionals, educating consumers, and handling complaints.

Jenna Wadsworth - Commissioner of Agriculture #JennaforNC

The commissioner is in charge of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Their primary goal is "maintaining and enhancing the ability of agriculture to produce an adequate supply of food and fiber in North Carolina.”

Jessica Holmes - Commissioner of Labor #JessicaHolmesNC

The commissioner of labor heads the Department of Labor, whose main duty is promoting the "health, safety and general welfare" of the workers on North Carolina. The commissioner has broad regulatory and enforcement powers in order to carry out the duties of the department.
