Friend,
This is a different email than I usually send. I want to share part of my story with you and how it led to me fighting for working families in Congress. I hope you will read it the whole way through, but if you’re short on time I understand, and I hope you can chip in $3 toward my re-election campaign.

From a young age, I witnessed firsthand the value of a good-paying job. My grandpa was a union painter, and my grandma was a public school teacher. They made an honest working-class living for themselves, and they passed down the importance of hard work to my parents and me.
My story and upbringing is not unique for many families in Illinois, and frankly, across the country. We remember our parents and grandparents being able to live out their American Dream. And yet today, that dream feels out of reach for far too many.
Our communities thrive when the middle class is strong. But rising costs and stagnating wages are ripping the rug out from thousands of Illinoisans – who are struggling to make ends meet.
This is what has driven me for my entire career – from leading the fight to pass a $15 minimum wage in Illinois, to bringing manufacturing back to America, and eventually running for Congress. The challenges hardworking families face are immense, and my priority is to help them get the tools they need to succeed.
This fight is above petty partisan politics, but it’s made me a clear target. Keeping this seat is how I can continue delivering for IL-13, but I need your continued support to build early momentum. If you’re with me, can you chip in $3 or any amount you’re comfortable with today?
