The past 96 days with Donald Trump as president and Republicans in the majority have been devastating, stressful and straight up exhausting.

But I won’t back down from a tough fight — so here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been fighting for this month in Washington:

• Elon Musk, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are attempting to gut Medicaid — threatening access to lifesaving health care for seniors and vulnerable communities. That’s why I’ve spoken out and denounced Republicans’ hundreds of billions of dollars in proposed cuts.

• Social Security is on the chopping block, too. While the GOP plans to cut Social Security staff and delay services, I’ve worked with my constituents to ensure they receive their benefits on time and introduced a bill to increase payments by $2,400 per year.

• Trump’s reckless policies have plunged the U.S. into an economic downturn, hitting working-class Americans the hardest. I’m proud to have introduced legislation to increase the minimum wage to $17 an hour to lessen the burden.

My work has always been about making life easier for all Americans — not padding the wallets of the rich and powerful.
