This past session, thanks to you, the general assembly passed our constitutional amendment, marking the first step toward securing a constitutional amendment to protect reproductive rights.

In 2026, during the session following the November elections, the Virginia House will once again have to vote on our constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion access. If they pass a second time, the amendment will proceed to the next stage: letting voters have the final say.

This is how it works to make a change to our state constitution, but this is far from guaranteed for two very important reasons:
1. This fall, every single seat in the VA House will be on the ballot.
2. Democrats only hold a one-seat majority in the House.

We cannot afford to lose a single seat.
