Talking with the Next Generation of Leaders

Today, I visited Westosha Central High School to answer student's questions about our government. We had a thoughtful and engaging conversation on topics ranging from national security to spending to social issues, and what it’s truly like to serve in Congress.

We are always working to create a more perfect union. It's great to see the next generation engaged.

Join My Monday Telephone Town Hall

My priority is to be available and accessible to my constituents. Since taking office, I have held 38 in-person listening sessions, including four this year in Janesville, Beloit, Racine, and Kenosha, and monthly telephone town halls, which have drawn thousands of participants. I will continue to hold town halls of all types to hear directly from you about the issues that matter to you most.

What are the top issues you'd like to discuss on my telephone town hall?

REAL ID Required to Fly

Beginning May 7, 2025, you'll need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or ID card to board flights within the U.S.—unless you present a U.S. passport or another form of federally approved identification. REAL ID is a secure, federally mandated form of identification needed for domestic air travel. Designed to enhance national security, the REAL ID provides a standardized, reliable way to verify identity for air travel across the United States.

You can apply for your REAL ID at any Wisconsin DMV. Unlike a traditional driver's license, you will need additional documentation when applying for a REAL ID. Original documents or certified copies from each category below are required. While some documents may be used for more than one category, others will only work for single categories. Be sure to check carefully to make sure you have all the materials you need before visiting the DMV.

Document categories include:

  • Proof of Name and Date of Birth
  • Proof of Legal Presence in the U.S.
  • Proof of Identity
  • Proof of Name Change (if your name is different than what’s on your birth certificate, proof is needed for each name change)
  • Proof of Address (two forms)
  • Provide your Social Security Number

You can learn more about obtaining your real ID from the Wisconsin DMV REAL ID webpage or use their interactive guide here.

Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

On Thursday, we recognized the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. On this day and always, we remember the more than one million Armenians who were deported, massacred, and torn from their families as Ottoman authorities arrested Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in 1915.

In the wake of this conflict, we honor the continued resilience of the Armenian people, including those who have built new lives in the United States. We also recognize the current hardship endured by the Armenian Population of Nagorno-Karabakh. The United States stands behind you and will continue to stand up for human rights as we work towards a future where we all can live with peace and respect.

As always, feel free to contact my office if you have any questions, want to share an opinion, or are having trouble with a federal agency.
