Come canvass for Mike Westgaard’s campaign for Renton City Council! Let’s elect someone who will fight for working people.

Mike is a proud union shop steward and longtime Seattle DSA member – his campaign envisions connecting our chapter to the organized labor movement and the working class struggle in South King County. Mike is a champion for housing and transit for all, ending the war on drugs, and defending Raise the Wage Renton!

Mike is running as a democratic socialist in a grassroots campaign against a Chamber of Commerce backed establishment incumbent – to win he will need OUR HELP! We’ll meet at Tiffany Park for sign-ins and training, then head out to talk to neighbors about Mike’s campaign, and gather signatures to get him on the ballot. We will be organizing carpooling options, if you need a carpool please enter the relevant information into the Action Network RSVP form.

First time canvassers are welcome. We will provide training before the canvass. Please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately!

If you are a PCC member, attend the upcoming Annual Members’ Meeting on Wednesday 4/30 at 5:30-6pm and compel leadership to comment on our campaign. Join our Signal chat to talk with other members.

PCC claims to be a socially responsible business with “ethically sourced; honest and transparent products.” Meanwhile their shelves are stocked with brands implicated in the illegal occupation of Palestine and Syria, such as the Nestle brand San Pellegrino and the wine brand Golan Heights Winery. These brands contributed to PCC’s $436.5 million in net sales in 2023.

We know the BDS movement has a huge impact. And we know we are powerful in the places where we live and work. Join us to demand that this local business take a stand against genocide.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has reached out to DSA chapters nationwide to assist with the groundwork for their organizing drive at Delta Airlines.

This is a collaboration between IAM members at other airlines, Delta employees who want a union, IAM organizers, and DSA members including Seattle DSA's own Labor Working Group. Our role is to help organizers reach members outside the workplace because the airport is such a heavily surveilled environment.

We will be phonebanking workers whose union cards have expired. We are trying to get them to re-sign their cards as every card counts in a union certification!
