Kay, Republicans in Congress have set their plans to cut funding for Medicaid in motion.

The Republican majority in the House recently passed a Senate-backed resolution, entirely on party lines, that would make major cuts to the federal budget when the final version is passed. Medicaid programs will almost certainly be on the list of programs losing funding.

And why do they need to cut the budget so much? So they can pay for huge tax breaks for the top 0.1%. We have to speak out against this.

Please, add your name to our petition calling on key members of Congress to oppose any and all cuts to Medicaid as they finalize this all-important budget.

Medicaid is a crucial program that helps millions of Americans afford the healthcare they need, including over 35 million kids under 18 who are on Medicaid or CHIP plans.

For many people a Medicaid plan is the difference between going bankrupt over medical bills and getting the care you need. For some folks, Medicaid coverage is the difference between life and death.

That’s why it’s an outrage that Republican leaders would push for huge cuts to Medicaid in order to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires. It’s an insult to the working class of America and sign of the growing power of the ultra-rich in our politics.

The truth is that if Medicaid cuts are made, people will suffer in every state and every Congressional district in this country. We have to make it clear to members of Congress that if they vote for this disastrous plan, they will be facing the consequences from voters of all backgrounds.

Add your name here and help us send an important message to Congress: Protect Medicaid or be prepared to be voted out of office. Every signature helps us show the unpopularity of these proposed cuts.
