BANNER

Neighbors,

Holiday greetings and well wishes to all who celebrated Easter or Passover last week, whether that meant family gatherings, traditional meals, or just enjoying some downtime. I know my family appreciated having a few extra days together amid the usual chaos!

Freiberg

The legislative break last week came at the perfect time, giving me a chance to reconnect with many of you throughout our district. Now, we're back in action as the House reconvenes for the final month of the legislative session.

This week we’re working on passing budget bills off the House floor. The Elections budget bill includes provisions to match the Help America Vote Act, funds which go towards election security, and provides the budget for the Campaign Finance Board’s operations.

Bad Faith Bills

This week, Minnesota Republicans introduced a bill to declare MRNA vaccines weapons of mass destruction [ [link removed] ] and charge anyone who administers them with a crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison. I’m so fed up with Republicans refusing to follow science and insisting on spewing harmful, false rhetoric about lifesaving healthcare. I took these frustrations straight to the camera in a video you can watch here [ [link removed] ].

See You Tomorrow!

I hope you can join me, Rep. Cedrick Frazier, and Sen. Ann Rest tomorrow morning for a legislative town hall in Crystal. RSVP [ [link removed] ] is encouraged on Facebook but not required.

Standing with Unions

UFCW

This week, I joined UFCW Local 663 in Plymouth on the picket line as Cub Foods in Waterford employees fight for fair contracts. These workers need to have decent wages, good healthcare, their pension, and they need transfer protections. I was glad to join to support.

Adopt Me!

To help combat the chaos in the news and from the White House, I want to take a moment for positivity each week. The Animal Humane Society is right here in our district and does great work to ensure animals in need find loving homes, provide affordable care for pets in our community, and initiate animal education.

Cat!

I’ve been giving a lot of attention to the K-9 community in these adoption highlights, and as a cat guy myself, it’s time to lift up some of our feline friends.

Meet Blueberry [ [link removed] ], a 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair looking for forever home. Blueberry came from extraordinary circumstances, and because of it, will need some help from her new family with proper socialization and health care. She may take a little longer to warm up, but he will be a lovely addition to a low-activity home. Stop by the Golden Valley Humane Society to meet Blueberry and bring her home!
