Wish Kid Seven is fighting end-stage kidney disease, so she’s spent too much of her young life in hospital rooms. When Make-A-Wish^® entered her life, Seven had just undergone 18 months of grueling treatments after a diagnosis that left her entire family reeling. 
 
“It was not something we were prepared for,” said Natalie, Seven’s mom. “I didn’t know what it meant for Seven in terms of her health [and] future.”

When Seven got the chance to choose a wish, her passion for cooking led the way: she wished to be a chef. 

“She’s a shy young lady, but a boss in the kitchen,” said Nick Bell, restaurant chef and one of Seven’s many WishMakers. An entire community of volunteers, fundraisers, local chefs, business owners and donors rallied together to give Seven the finest chef experience. ​ 

Seven’s hometown residents lined the streets, wearing custom T-shirts for her wish day. Seven was set up to cook for everyone in the neighborhood, and that’s exactly what she did.​ 

“My wish replaced the bad memories and made me feel like the bad stuff didn’t happen,” Seven said.  

It takes a village for a wish to come true – because as long as children like Seven fight devastating critical illnesses, they’ll be counting on you to give them the hope and strength they need to keep fighting. ​
