The Trump Administration is unilaterally ending access to over $400 million in COVID-era education grants early. This sudden grant freeze has created a massive budget gap for state education departments and local school districts.

Baltimore City Schools alone are set to lose up to $48 million in education grants—funding that was being used to fund tutoring programs, after-school care, and other essential student services.

Our students will be the ones to suffer the most from this reckless decision, especially low-income and homeless students who rely on this critical funding to secure the resources they need to catch up and recover from the lasting impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I will not stand for these heartless attacks that threaten our children's future. That’s why I’ve joined 15 other attorneys general to take on the Trump Administration and fight to restore critical funding for Maryland's schools.
