John,
The election campaign is almost over, and I wanted to send you these final thoughts about how I think it will end, and what this means for the People’s Party.
One of the central questions in this election has been: Can we afford a fourth Liberal term?
Of course not. A decade of Liberal rule has profoundly damaged Canada on so many levels, economically, socially, culturally. Four more years of it will destroy Canada even more.
Unfortunately, that’s what we’re going to get anyway, whoever wins the election, because it seems that’s what most Canadians want.
We’re going to get it of course if Carney is elected prime minister, as is almost certain if we believe all the polls.
But that’s also what we would get if Poilievre was elected, because on all major issues, the fake Conservatives are the same as the Liberals.
They squandered a 20-point lead in the polls because Poilievre has been unable to differentiate himself from Carney and to offer a different vision of Canada’s future.
Poilievre supports the same level of continued mass immigration as the Liberals.
He voted for C-4 and won’t fight against gender ideology.
He is a warmonger who wants to send more weapons and money to Ukraine, and would likely get us involved in another war in the Middle East.
He would impose counter tariffs and protect the dairy cartel even if that means we can’t reach a new trade agreement that’s advantageous to Canada with President Trump.
He supports the Paris Accord and the climate hoax and wants government programs to reduce CO2.
His budget plan is almost the same as the Liberals, with more spending, very little cuts, and four more years of deficits.
He won’t repeal any of Trudeau’s new costly social programs that intrude on provincial powers.
He won’t repeal Trudeau’s new laws to restrict gun ownership.
He won’t reopen the debate on abortion and will keep it legal to kill a fully developed and viable child in the third trimester.
It’s simple: Conservative or Liberal, it’s the same.
John, it’s obvious by now that the PPC will not form the next government.
But we need to be there to continue to fight for sane policies, to push the Overton Window in the right direction, to force the establishment media and parties to debate our ideas.
Our presence has had a huge impact on Canadian politics during the past six years, even if we still have not elected any MP.
Canadians who support conservative and populist principles have a fundamental choice in this election.
They can either waste their vote on the fake Conservatives and get another Liberal government anyway.
Or they can make a real difference by voting for the PPC and making us stronger, so we can continue to fight for their values in the coming four years.
John, I trust that’s what you did already during the advanced polling last week, or will do on Monday!
