The Trump administration has just unleashed baseless attacks on ActBlue, the Democrats’ main grassroots fundraising operation.

In case this wasn’t clear: Any allegations so far from the GOP-controlled investigation are completely baseless. It’s political theater, a witch hunt. But it’s part of an effort that’s much, much more evil.

The far-right have so brazenly used Donald Trump’s election and the idea of ‘friendly’ conservative courts to go after every basic democratic tenet of our country. And this is the most aggressive attack yet to go after any opposition’s ability to fundraise, or build a campaign without leaning on oligarchs.

Our country was formed on the basis of political, electoral and ideological opposition, and they’re trying to take us back – not to the 1950s, but the 1750s.

Even after Citizens United, grassroots donors, everyday folks whose average contribution is well under $50, are the primary way we have always built our campaigns. And right now, grassroots donors are not just in the streets, but online funding our collective fight against the Trump administration.

But MAGA doesn’t want you to have a voice. They only want the very richest in this country to have a say, and that’s why we can’t allow this attack to go unaddressed.
