When I think about the toughest times in my life, I’m thankful I’ve always had people around me to help me through.

Being raised in a refugee camp wasn’t easy.

Coming to the US and becoming a citizen wasn’t easy.

Running for office for the first time as a young Muslim immigrant wasn’t easy.

And since then, going up against far-right Republicans, hateful smears, and millions of dollars in attack ads isn’t easy either.

But I never think twice about pressing forward and fighting for justice for all. That’s because I’ve had my family, friends and community around me.

And because I have you.

I could not do this without you and the entire progressive movement that I fight alongside. Now that I’ve officially launched my campaign for reelection, I’m hoping that I count on you to have my back, as you always have in tough times.

You probably didn't wake up this morning thinking you’d make a donation to my campaign, but I really need you if we’re going to win reelection and fight back against Trump’s administration.
