John,
All across the country, working people are rising up to demand stronger neighborhoods, safer communities, and better wages for all.
We are fighting for a government that prioritizes school lunches over predator drones, affordable housing over real estate billionaires, and universal health care over massive handouts to Big Pharma.
That’s why, on May 1st, thousands will be taking to the streets — in more than 400 towns and cities — to honor workers all across the globe, and demand a more fair, just, and equitable nation here at home. And we hope you’ll be there, too.

Protests, rallies, and demonstrations are not JUST about our demands for the government (though those are critical). They’re also about connecting with each other.
Tens of millions of people are feeling the same feelings that you are in this political moment.
They’re scared of what the future might hold. Anxiously waiting for yet another shoe to drop. Distraught over the suffering that their communities have endured for years.
And we can tell you, from experience, spending an afternoon chanting and marching in solidarity with your neighbors is sometimes the perfect antidote.
It won’t magically make all these issues go away. But it will certainly make you feel a little bit less alone in your struggle against the tyrants who are pillaging our country.
And every new attendee at one of these demonstrations means our tent grows a little bit wider.
So please, check and see if there is a May Day Strong action in your area. Sign up. And let’s remind ourselves that we are many, and they are few.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
