My family means everything to me. I was raised by parents who came to Colorado from Mexico in search of a better life. They knew that hard work and caring for others are the values that build strong communities and families. They raised me and my siblings with those values – on a construction worker’s salary in Adams County.

I became the first in my family to graduate from college and became a pediatrician – a testament to the American Dream. I chose to work in Adams County to give back to the community that raised me, but I quickly realized that families were struggling with rising healthcare and drug costs.

That’s why I ran for the state legislature. There, I took on Big Pharma, helped pass a first-in-the-nation cap on the price of insulin, and worked to lower the cost of prescription drugs. But I knew I could do more.

So, I ran for Congress in 2022. Thanks to this grassroots movement, I defied the odds and won – becoming the first Latina to represent Colorado in Congress. I worked every day to build on my work to lower healthcare costs, address the high cost of living, and defend working families.

But in 2024, I came up just short against Gabe Evans, losing Colorado’s 8th District by just 2,449 votes.

Now, Gabe Evans has gone all-in on Trump and his extreme agenda, making life harder for working families in Colorado and threatening healthcare for millions across the state – all while giving handouts to billionaires.

That’s why I’m running to win back CO-08 and continue my work in Congress to protect healthcare and fight for hard working Coloradans – but I can’t do it alone.
