Last week, Leaders We Deserve announced a $20 million effort to primary out-of-touch, ineffective incumbent House Democrats to replace them with generational young leaders. If you can, I’m asking you to chip in $5 to power this urgent work.
I want to be transparent about why we made this announcement when we did – and why your support today will determine whether or not we can put young people on the ballot in 2026.
Right now, there are too many politicians occupying safe blue seats who aren’t putting up enough of a fight against Donald Trump. They’re failing to meet the moment, and it’s leaving more and more voters disillusioned about what Democrats even stand for.
But as you read this, there are young, inspiring, and brave leaders out there who are in the process of deciding whether to run for office. If we can demonstrate that there’s a loud, powerful, and well-funded movement who’s ready to support their campaigns with everything we’ve got, then maybe – just maybe – they’ll decide to get into the arena and lead our party into the future. But if they decide their campaigns are over before they even begin, there won’t be any Gen Z leaders for us to vote for come Election Day in 2026.
That’s why our work needs to happen now, John. Next spring or next fall will be too little, too late. It’s why Leaders We Deserve just made our big announcement about supporting young progressives who decide to challenge asleep-at-the-wheel House Democrats in safe seats.
