I’m writing because Donald Trump’s recent Executive Order targeting ActBlue represents a clear politicization of the Justice Department. It affects all of us, and the integrity of our democratic system. It is also a typical, cheap stunt to go after ActBlue and Democratic grassroots infrastructure. His goals here are clear.
This isn’t about preventing fraud. It’s a cynical partisan attack.
This is why it is so crucially important that Democrats show up and win this year in Virginia. It’s a bellwether election and our first opportunity to show Trump and his henchmen that we won’t tolerate this kind of weaponization of government.
