The Projection is the Point: Trump Rails Against ActBlue While Drowning in Red (Ink and Flags)
Trump’s attacking ActBlue for a few reasons. He sees his polling numbers, even if he denies it. He knows he’s convinced many MAGA to see him like an outbreak of lice or rescinded tax refund. That this could crush his cretinous GOP brethren running in 2026, wiped out like a Trumper owning a farm. No, he doesn’t care about them—much like Don Jr., they’re not him!—but he knows what Democrats with power will do.
On a related note, never far from surface—The Horror, The Horror—of his life. He’s an astonishingly weak, little baby [ [link removed] ] with the largest recorded victim complex on record. He’s terrified of everything from germs to everyone laughing at him to losing. The latter is why he cheats at everything. Politics is part of everything.
Or, one can pretend a guy who took tens of millions from small-dollar donors— marking many as recurring donors without their knowledge—and used it to pay off lawyers, fund his golf cart parade and more, is genuinely outraged(!) that Democrats have a centralized platform [ [link removed] ] where people give voluntarily and transparently.
Meanwhile, Trump and his party run what amounts to a global money laundering operation, with GOP campaigns practically [ [link removed] ]mainlining rubles [ [link removed] ] and riyals. From Russian oligarchs funneling millions through shadowy PACs [ [link removed] ], to Saudis who don’t just buy hotels—but purchase bone-saw silence [ [link removed] ] and complicity—Trump's only complaint about foreign money is when it doesn’t show up in his own bank account.
Yet, we still haven’t gotten to one of the biggest reasons Trump’s doing this, one our corporate media wont’t talk about: [ [link removed] ]It’s part of a longtime pattern of Republicans politicizing the government to attack sources of Democratic money and votes [ [link removed] ] for patently absurd reasons. This has been going on for 30 years—as more and more of the GOP leadership’s become rotten to the core.
This didn’t start with Trump, it created him.
They went after unions, because they helped fund Democrats. Trial lawyers? Targeted with “tort reform.” ACORN? Dismantled over fake scandals. Planned Parenthood? Attacked with fake blood libel videos about “after birth abortion”—which exists in the same way Monsters Inc. does. Hell, immigration’s about this and they say it out loud [ [link removed] ].
This is why when I had former right-wing GOP Congressman, Joe Walsh, on my weekly Substack show, “Amped Up w/ Cliff Schecter,” Joe simply said, “I was an asshole. I was a jerk. People like me paved the way for Donald Trump [ [link removed] ]…” Walsh gets it was Tea Party madness, McConnell’s destruction of the Senate and stolen Supreme Court Judges, etc., that primed the GOP base to become anti-democracy & pro-Trump.
Leading Republicans, for over a quarter century, have acted like political termites—gnawing away at the very beams that hold up democracy, one progressive support system at a time. Trump’s just the loudest, dumbest mouthpiece yet—accusing others of playing dirty while swimming laps in a cesspool.
…Yo, Check This Out!

My good pal Dan Perry, who led Mideast/Europe/Africa/Caribbean coverage at the Associated Press, has a great piece out this week on Bill Maher’s getting punked by Trump. Read it! And subscribe to his Substack! [ [link removed] ]
Marjorie Taylor Greene is reportedly considering a Senate run in Georgia vs Jon Ossoff! The one who just reiterated, on the day of the Pope’s death, that Satan controls the Catholic Church?? [ [link removed] ] The Jewish lasers [ [link removed] ] lady? The momentous dumb-bum? Yes please [ [link removed] ], yes please [ [link removed] ], yes please [ [link removed] ]
