Hwy 62 Speed Limit Change
After completing an Engineering and Traffic Investigation on Minnesota Highway 62 - from the junction with Highway 55 to the junction with Interstate 494 - MnDOT is increasing the speed limit in this area from 55 to 60 miles per hour.
This study was completed to ensure uniform and consistent speed zones per the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MNMUTCD).
The increase to 60 MPH was authorized by the Commissioner of Transportation and takes effect Thursday, May 1, when new speed limit signs are installed.

Recreational Fires
General recreational fire guidelines in Mendota Heights include:
- Maximum size of 3-by-3 feet.
- Must be at least 25 feet from structures such as homes, sheds, decks or fences.
- Fires shall be attended while burning.
- A means to extinguish the fire must be kept nearby.
- Only wood with a minimum 1-inch and maximum 3-inch diameter may be burned.
- Fires must be extinguished within three hours of starting, and by 11 p.m.
- Fires allowed when wind is less than 15 miles per hour.
- Portable outdoor fireplaces must be used according to manufacturer instructions and not within 15 feet of a structure or combustible material.
- Any fire or police official may withdraw permission for recreational fires.

The City is replacing the Ivy Hills Park playground this summer. Four proposed designs are available, vote for your favorite today - survey closes April 27.
Note: all four playground options have the same estimated cost.
Results of the survey will be shared with the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council, to help inform their decision on the playground design.
