Last week, I went back to Southwest Virginia, an area of our Commonwealth where I’ve always loved spending time.

While I was there, I got to spend an afternoon at the NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. And honestly? Talking sports is a great opportunity to connect with folks from all over the political spectrum about what’s going on in Washington.

Whether it was catching up at the track or in town, I got to have open, honest conversations about the state of our country. And one thing came through loud and clear: people are tired of the chaos.

They’re tired of the Trump administration’s recklessness. This isn’t what he said he’d do for our country. And they told me that their friends and neighbors feel the same.

This isn’t anything new. What Virginians all across the Commonwealth want is leaders who will focus on delivering real results for Americans – lowering costs, protecting our national security, and creating good-paying jobs. All things that Trump promised when running and hasn’t delivered on – in fact, he’s done the opposite. Families are struggling with rising costs, our national security has been put at risk due to sloppy communications, and thousands of Virginians have lost their jobs, all in less than 100 days.

Look, I’ll always find an opportunity to make a bipartisan deal, because I’ll do whatever it takes to get things done for Virginians. Frankly, that’s in my DNA. But sometimes – and this Trump administration is the perfect example – there’s moments when Democrats have to stand firm and not let those in power tear our country apart.

We need to stick together next year and elect Democrats up and down the ballot to send Trump a message: we won’t stand for his cruelty and chaos.

So I’m asking: will you pitch in $5, $10, or anything you can to help protect my seat so Democrats can flip the Senate next year? There’s a long fight ahead of us and I’d love to have you on my team.
