Hi there,

Today, we are excited to announce our endorsement of May Nivar, who is running for the Virginia House of Delegates, District 5. This is the same seat Susanna Gibson ran for in 2023 and lost by only 715 votes after enduring a sexist and horrifying attack from the state’s Republican party.

Before we share more about this race, we want to explain why Virginia is so important this year. Every seat in the Assembly, plus the Governor’s office, is up for election THIS November (2025). Virginia is currently the only safe access point for reproductive healthcare in the entire South of our country. We have a responsibility to keep it that way.

But here’s the thing: Virginia has very thin pro-choice margins in their government.

We CAN flip this seat and gain one more pro-choice legislator in VA by supporting May Nivar in her race for Delegate.

HD-57 is the TOP battleground district in Virginia this year, and May is going to need all the help she can get to defeat her out-of-touch Republican opponent. Chip in a split donation of $20.25 or anything you can to help us support this critical campaign →

Throughout May’s career, she has worked tirelessly to amplify the voices of women, Asian Americans, and others who are too often unheard. Now, she has her sights set on shaping, influencing, and transforming policies in her state.

Her opponent, the Republican incumbent Delegate David Owen, passed zero bills during the 2025 legislative session and an independent analysis by the Virginia Public Access Project found him to be the least effective legislator in Virginia.

He has said he would like to see abortion become illegal in Virginia and has repeatedly voted against commonsense gun safety policies, paid medical leave, bills to raise the minimum wage, lower prescription drug costs, and more...

In the House of Delegates, May, on the other hand, will defend a woman’s right to make decisions about her body, including abortion, contraception, and IVF. She also vows to protect healthcare providers, ensuring they can offer these services without fear.

Here’s why this district is important: Kamala Harris carried this district by 9.4 percentage points in 2024, and Susanna Gibson lost by only 715 votes in 2023. This is a prime flip opportunity, but to make that happen, May needs our help.

We have a real (and rare) chance to unseat an anti-choice Republican man who hasn’t done anything useful for his constituents and replace him with a qualified, pro-women woman who will defend our rights. You can make sure May has all the tools she’ll need in what is sure to be a tough race by rushing a split $20.25 or more contribution today →

Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for political office in America. As dangerous laws about women get passed in states with the lowest numbers of women in government (11%, 12%....), we're BREAKING the male supermajorities across those states.

Because men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.
