Email from Arlington Community Foundation On 5/7, Arlington women plan for personal impact. On 5/21, an LGBTQ+ Mental Health Discussion. Coming Up: On May 7th, ACF hosts Creating a Personal Plan for Impact with the Arlington Women Community Builders, and on May 21st, an LGBTQ+ Mental Health Panel Discussion. Listening. Learning. Together. At Arlington Community Foundation, we firmly believe someone's sense of belonging is at the heart of community. We celebrate each person’s background and perspective to build a more inclusive community. We strive to honor and support their unique needs and aspirations. In this spirit, we are thrilled to host two events in May that have been designed for two unique community groups - but most importantly - designed by those same community groups through a series of listening sessions led by members of these communities. If you identify as a member of these communities, we hope you will join these upcoming events so that your own unique needs and aspirations are heard as we continue to listen, learn, and grow together. If you have any questions about these events or community groups, please don't hesitate to reach out to ACF Vice President Christy Cole at [email protected]. Arlington Women Community Builders May 7: Creating a Plan for Personal Impact We hear from many women who are eager to give of their “time, talent, treasure, and ties.” Some are overwhelmed by the many opportunities for involvement and find it hard to choose, and we all want to know how to evaluate whether we have made a difference for the organizations and causes that we care about. On May 7th, connect with a diverse group of women, and hear from a panel of experts in philanthropy, community leadership and social impact, and wealth management to begin to map out your own inspired plan for impact. Click here to RSVP. LGBTQ+ Community & Allies May 21: LGBTQ+ Mental Health Panel Discussion Join us for a vital discussion on mental health issues in the LGBTQ+ community. Mental health professionals SC Nealy (LGBT+ Counseling Collaborative), Timothy Elliott (Timothy Q. Elliott, MSW LLC), and representatives from He She Ze and We and Safe Space NOVA will discuss the unique challenges LGBTQ+ folks face with mental health and barriers to mental health care, as well as resources and strategies for improving your mental health as an LGBTQ+ person.
