Thousands of Jewish people were harassed and assaulted.

Dear John,

“I can punch you because you’re Jewish.”

Imagine how the ten-year-old victim felt hearing those chilling words as a sharp blow landed on her face.

When another child at the teen center in the quiet New York suburb of Greenwich, CT stood up to defend his Jewish friend, the bully asked, “What, are you a Jew too? Who let all the Jews in here?”

This disturbing incident is just one of 9,354 antisemitic acts — an average of more than 25 every day — recorded in ADL’s newly released Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. These acts of harassment, vandalism and assault have reached an unprecedented level, marking 2024 as the highest year on record since ADL began tracking over 45 years ago.

This frightening increase in antisemitic acts is alarming, but with your support today, ADL can continue to monitor and respond to these threats to ensure the safety and security of Jewish communities across the country.

Make your first gift now to fight the appalling surge of antisemitism and hate.

John, these are far more than jaw-dropping numbers. They are our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, parents and friends who are being harassed and assaulted. Fear is permeating Jewish communities across the country.

Incidents in this year’s Audit were reported in all 50 states; they are happening in small and large cities, online and on campuses. Sadly, the number of incidents on campus nearly doubled from 2023 and now make up 18% of all incidents in the Audit.

Antisemitism is a grim reality for all of our communities. Together, we will not look away.

I’m grateful you are a member of our ADL community, and can help us speak out and fight against these antisemitic incidents.

With your support, ADL will continue to take decisive measures to call out and disrupt antisemitism, discrimination and hate wherever we see it — in our communities, in our schools and online. We will continue to call on our leaders to address the threats we are facing and protect us from being attacked for no reason other than who we are, how we worship or what we believe.
