After decades of underinvestment, public transport in the UK is not fit for purpose. Many people are cut off from public transport. And where public transport still exists, services are inconsistent, often unreliable and too expensive for many.  
 

The consequences of this are dire for society and our planet. Those who are able turn to cars to get around, putting more vehicles on the road, increasing carbon emissions and air pollution, and contributing to the climate crisis.
