Dear members and supporters,
On May 1, International Workers Day, GGJ members are joining movements in the streets across Turtle Island, mobilizing in solidarity against rising authoritarianism and repression!
From Puerto Rico to New York, Florida to Louisiana, Wisconsin to New Mexico, and California to Hawaii, we are marching May Day Strong to stand up against the Trump administration’s attacks on our communities.
The stakes we are facing are high
This administration is seizing our family members and leaders off the streets like union farmworker Alfredo ‘Lelo’ Juarez Zeferino, students like Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Ozturk, and disappearing people like Kilmar Abrego Garcia to concentration camps hundreds of miles overseas.
Trump and Musk are systematically dismantling racial justice advances and social programs, and weaponizing a culture of fear and repression meant to prevent us from exercising our basic rights.
We must love and protect each other
We call on government offices and workers, universities and schools, hospitals, foundations, and philanthropy to refuse to comply with fascism and repression that is harming our communities. We support workers fighting to build worker power!
We demand a People’s Care Agenda
In the face of crises, we turn to each other, to solidarity, and to the solutions we are building. |
