Your support powers everything we do. Unlike the Republican Party—propped up by billionaires and corporate PACs—the Democratic Party of New Mexico is fueled by grassroots donors like you. Continued support from donors like you sustain our organizing, our outreach, and our fight for democracy.
But now, that very ability to fight back is under direct attack.
In just 93 days, Donald Trump has waged an all-out assault on our democracy. He’s not hiding it—he’s declaring it out loud. He says he wants to be “King,” and his actions are backing that up.
Let’s be clear: what Trump is doing isn’t politics as usual. It’s authoritarianism in action. During his presidency and since returning to power, Trump has:
- Deported students and activists who were here legally

Proposed detaining U.S. citizens in El Salvador’s infamous mega-prisons
- Defied federal court orders
- Pardoned January 6 insurrectionists

Attacked and undermined independent media
- Pressured universities to silence dissent
- Replaced nonpartisan civil servants with political loyalists

Turned the Department of Justice into his personal weapon
Now, he’s coming for our funding.
Trump plans to direct the Justice Department to investigate ActBlue with an aim at shutting it down. ActBlue is the platform that Democrats nationwide rely on to fund our work. While we've moved to a new platform—GoodChange—hundreds of our recurring donors still give through ActBlue. Thousands of Democrats across the country still rely on it. This won’t make front-page news—but the intent couldn’t be clearer: Trump wants to rig the system so that only Republicans can raise money, run for office, and win elections.
That’s not democracy. That’s dictatorship.
