We are in the middle of a constitutional emergency, friend.
The Trump administration is abusing an archaic wartime authority from the 1700s, the Alien Enemies Act, to abduct immigrants and send them to El Salvador’s military-run prison, CECOT — without any due process or day in court. In many instances, their families have not even been told that their loved ones are now locked up in a foreign country.
The government has sent at least 271 people to CECOT, a notorious site where human rights organizations have documented severe abuses. That’s right — your tax dollars are being used to send people to a “black hole” torture site.
We need to act now. Urge Congress to demand the immediate return of those disappeared to CECOT and stop funding further deportation flights to this mega-prison >>> ([link removed])

These mass disappearances are a direct violation of our Constitution. Due process is a right for all people in the United States, regardless of nationality, citizenship, or criminal history.
If we don’t stand up when Donald Trump blatantly disregards our constitutional rights or ignores court orders — including a unanimous ruling from the Supreme Court to return Maryland husband and father Kilmar Abrego Garcia — there is nothing to stop him from sending more of our immigrant neighbors, or even U.S. citizens, to CECOT.
Friend, that’s why we’re urging Congress to call for an immediate return of these people and to resist the budget bill moving through Congress that would exponentially expand funding for these unlawful disappearances.
No matter who you are, this is a fight for your rights too.
Thank you,
Heidi Altman
