John --
I just walked out of a critical roundtable with Environmental
Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, focused on a crisis that’s
been ignored for far too long: the dumping of millions of gallons of
toxic sewage from Mexico into Southern California’s waters.

Let me be clear — this meeting wasn’t about more studies, throwing
money at the problem, or political grandstanding. It was about one
thing: action.
I told Administrator Zeldin what many of you already know: this is
not just an environmental disaster. It’s a national security threat.
When our Navy SEALs — the best of the best — are getting sick and
forced to relocate their training because of raw sewage in our oceans,
something is deeply broken.
Here’s the good news: your voices are being heard. Because of our
collective pressure, this issue has gone from being a “local problem”
to one the President of the United States is now addressing. That’s
major progress — and we’re not stopping there.

I was assured today that real, tangible solutions are on the way.
But let me be equally clear — I’m not letting up until we see results.
Holding Mexico accountable is no longer optional, it’s urgent. Our
beaches, our health, and our military demand it.
Thank you for standing with me. Together, we’re turning decades of
neglect into real momentum — and I’ll continue to keep you updated
every step of the way.
This fight isn’t over. But for the first time in years, the tide is
starting to turn.
