Did you see Jennie Lou’s email about her visit to Hutto? Chip Roy’s denial of the abuses happening in these detention facilities is appalling, especially after more and more of members of Congress visit these camps and talk about the animalistic way ICE is treating other human beings. We must act now because we cannot let this injustice stand any longer. Jennie Lou can’t stop talking about the children locked up in cages, and she won’t stop until we put an end to it. First we need to get her to Congress. Help make that happen. I went to the Hutto Detention Facility in Taylor to see for myself what was happening to migrants trying to seek asylum in the United States. Even though you had to have the proper credentials to get in (which I do not), I felt compelled to go anyway because I cannot let this injustice go unnoticed. Here’s what happened. It’s high time Chip Roy resigns for calling what’s happening a “political stunt”. Since he hasn’t resigned, let’s retire him! Can you donate $21 to the “Roy Retirement Fund” today? We’ve seen the pictures and videos coming out of these facilities and it’s all the same - children ripped away from their parents, people living in over-crowded, standing-room-only cages stripped of basic rights such as access to hygiene and decent food, sleeping on cold, dirty cement floors and covering themselves with foil blankets. Treating people chasing the American dream like this is nothing short of inhumane. I call on Congressman Chip Roy to resign because he’s in denial about the humanitarian crisis going on at these “centers” and continues to join the GOP bandwagon. Donate to the “Retire Roy Fund” today.
