The Pentagon is in chaos as distrust spreads under Defense Secretary Hegseth’s leadership. Now the Trump administration is scrambling — including emerging reports that the White House is considering showing Hegseth the door.1
For weeks now, and without authorization from Congress, the Trump administration has ordered multiple airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen. The rising death toll includes innocent people and has set an entire region on edge.
Pete Hegseth hasn’t bothered to get Congress’s permission to conduct these counterproductive and deadly strikes, but he apparently has no problem sharing them with members of his family. That’s right, it turns out Hegseth has been bragging about failed military operations in yet another Signal group, this one including his wife and brother.2
We want answers, and we’re not alone: Democratic lawmakers, including multiple House Armed Service Committee members, are furiously calling for accountability. Just this week, the first Congressional Republican expressed support for removing Hegseth.3
Secretary Hegseth’s tenure is unraveling in front of our eyes. With enough pressure from activists like you, we can pull the threads that will oust Hegseth for good and demand qualified leadership at the Pentagon.

We opposed Pete Hegseth’s nomination from the start. His nomination process made clear that his incompetence would be a potential threat to the safety and security of millions of people at home and around the globe.
The Secretary of Defense oversees the largest and most powerful military in the world. This role demands, at the very least, a leader who prioritizes people’s well-being, a willingness to root out corruption, an understanding that the military should be a tool of last resort, and approaches our common security with seriousness and responsibility.
Hegseth’s short tenure as the head of the Pentagon instead can be summed up by his record in Yemen – pointless airstrikes that have killed civilians, followed by reckless bragging on Signal about his failed, destructive policy.
We know how this story goes, John: Decades of trying to bomb our way to peace have only led to failure after failure. From Iraq to Afghanistan to Somalia to Syria to Yemen itself, time and time and time again, more U.S. bombs have only accelerated the fires of war. It’s as dangerous a strategy as it is misguided.
Let’s not forget: the Senate confirmed Hegseth with the narrowest majority, 51-50, with Trump’s Vice President casting the tie-breaking vote. Hegseth’s nomination was controversial to begin with and with enough public pressure we can help knock it off the rails for good.
