Dear Friend,

Very recently, I traveled to La Crosse, Wisconsin to meet with His Eminence, Cardinal Burke and to conduct several interviews.During our conversations, we frequently discussed the many challenges facing our families and our nation and believe that turning to our Blessed Mother in a special way now is timely. As a result, Cardinal Burke agreed now was the time to lead a 9 day novena to Our Lady of Good Counsel beginning May 1. May being the month of Mary.

He even recorded ashort video <[link removed]>message inviting the faithful to join with him in praying this novena.

When we planned this novena, little did we know that the Holy Father would pass to eternity and the novena would coincide with the Conclave to elect a new Pope. This change in circumstance will certainly constitute our intentions first and foremost when we begin the novena on May 1.

So, on behalf of Cardinal Burke and myself, we are asking you to join the Universal Church in prayer for the eternal rest of Pope Francis. Let us pray to God the Father who served as the Vicar of His Incarnate Son on earth, may through Divine Mercy, rest in peace.

Please pray also for the Sacred College of Cardinals, whose principal responsibility is to elect the Roman Pontiff, the Successor of Saint Peter and, both individually and as the Sacred College, to assist him “in the daily care of the universal Church. May the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, be one in heart the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Head and Shepherd of the flock of God the Father in choosing His Vicar on earth.

The new Pope will face insurmountable challenges. Wars and persecutions are taking place all around the world. We are living in difficult times. Our faith is challenged every day. As we also know, our own beloved Church is confronted with serious crises of faith and morals. The faithful are away from the sacraments in vast numbers, marriages and baptisms are down precipitously, and it looks like we are not replacing vocations in sufficient numbers to meet our spiritual needs. What do we do in the face of all this hopelessness?

We pray, as we always do, IN HOPE! This is particularly relevant right now, not only due to the upcoming election of the new Pope and the various crises of Church and world but also because the late Pope Francis declared 2025 as the Jubilee Year of Hope.

This Solemn Novena of Hope from May 1-9 will bring all these deep needs of our Church and our world to Christ through the loving hands of Our Lady. It will also be a time for reflection on our lives and discernment for the way ahead.

Please click here <[link removed]> to ask Cardinal Burke to pray for your intentions during the Solemn Novena of Hope to Our Lady of Good Counsel, May 1-9 and pray with us.

We offer our Novena of Hope in a special way to Our Lady of Good Counsel, asking for the wisdom and prudence to manage the difficulties that afflict us as well as the spiritual Gift of Counsel to assist others on their way to Heaven.

In Christ and Our Lady,
