Hey team,
We wanted to send along this email from Congressman Sean Casten in case you missed it.
Sean was laying out the case for movement-building, and growing our bench down the ballot here in Illinois. He also talked about our newest initiative for holding Republicans accountable.

Team,
It’s Sean Casten here, and I’ve proudly represented Illinois’ 6th Congressional District since 2019. I was elected during the 2018, defeating a 7-term Republican incumbent who refused to meet with his constituents. That is why I was excited to partner with the IDCCA when they suggested hosting town halls in Republican controlled areas.
This past weekend I traveled to Dixon and Carterville to talk with voters about issues that matter to them. I believe that all elected officials should hold themselves accountable to the voters who elected them. Voters in the Illinois 12th & 16th districts have never had any opportunities to ask questions and get answers from their Members of Congress. And national Republicans have openly discouraged in-person town halls. If my Republican colleagues are too afraid of their constituents to talk to them, then I’m happy to do it for them.
I know a movement is building throughout Illinois and our country. The evidence was on display earlier this month during our municipal elections. That is why I’m excited to be partnering with the IDCCA. To help harness this energy to get good people elected. If you want to support their mission and ensure we’re supporting Democrats at every level right now, you can make a split contribution now between IDCCA and my re-election campaign. [[link removed]]

Once we take the House, we’ll be able to go a step further and take real action on fixing those issues.
That’s something Republicans are failing to do in their attempt to cater to Trump and his extremism.
We can win at all levels in 2026, but it will mean a long term investment in building our Democratic Party. We know this strategy works and the IDCCA needs us to help put this strategy into action. Will you split a contribution right now between IDCCA and my re-election campaign so we can keep holding Republicans accountable? [[link removed]]
