 The complete and total incompetence of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unacceptable. Last month, we learned that Hegseth accidentally texted sensitive military plans to a national political reporter using an unsecure app. Now, we’ve learned that he used the same unsecure app again to share real-time military operation details with his wife, brother, and personal lawyer. This reckless disregard for national security protocols is absolutely disqualifying. Hegseth has put our nation’s service members, and the American people as a whole, at risk. That’s why I am calling for his immediate resignation.
If Pete Hegseth can’t stop himself from texting sensitive military information to people without a security clearance, how can our nation’s service members trust his judgment? And how can the American people trust him to keep our country safe? Hegseth has now been at the center of two scandals as Secretary of Defense. But the consequences for our country are far more than just international embarrassment. Today, the American people are less safe with Pete Hegseth in charge — full stop. Our nation, our families, and our service members deserve so much more than Hegseth’s shocking irresponsibility. That’s why I’m urging you to join me in calling for his immediate resignation:
