Let me tell you why Michigan’s Senate race is so important in 2026. And why I’m going to be so focused on it.

In 2024, Elissa Slotkin won her Senate race by just 0.3%. Grassroots support from people like you helped Elissa overcome tens of millions of outside dollars in spending from Republicans and a tough election cycle to win by a razor-thin margin. We need that same intense grassroots support this time around.

That’s because Michigan’s 2026 Senate race could be even closer. Senator Gary Peters announced that he wouldn’t seek reelection — which means that there’s an open Senate seat on the ballot in what will be a highly contested midterm election.

Experts at the Cook Political Report have already ranked this race as a pure toss-up — and now, you can bet that Republicans and their mega-donors are already gearing up to spend an enormous amount of resources in Michigan.

As a Senator, my job is to hold the Trump administration accountable and defend the rule of law. As Vice-Chair of the DSCC (the Senate Dems’ campaign arm), my job is to help hold the seats we need to flip the majority. Protecting this Senate seat is the first step to taking back the Senate majority and standing up against Donald Trump’s reckless agenda.
