Donald Trump has spent his presidency throwing our economy into turmoil, destroying the federal government’s ability to help people, and tearing up the values that once made America the shining light of the world. 

For the sake of politics, he is turning the power of the presidency into a cruel weapon wielded by a man who wants to be a king instead of serving the people. 

John, there’s a better way forward than what Trump is offering. 

Yesterday, I stood before the Minnesota legislature and delivered my State of the State address. I spoke about Minnesota’s history of servant leadership, people of differing opinions coming together for the common good, and my belief that we can continue to unify around basic things that people everywhere want—like meaningful work, safe neighborhoods, good schools, and affordable health care. 

We’ve made incredible progress together. But there’s more work ahead of us, and we must continue showing Donald Trump what true leadership looks like: abiding commitment to making life better for the people we serve.
