Bakari Sellers is a nationally recognized political commentator, attorney, and author. A trailblazer in politics, he made history in 2006 as the youngest African American elected official in the nation at just 22 years old. A passionate advocate for equity and justice, Bakari has spent his career uplifting underrepresented voices and advancing progressive causes.

Beyond being a trusted CNN political analyst, he is the author of the New York Times bestseller My Vanishing Country, a poignant memoir and cultural analysis of America’s forgotten Black working-class communities. His newest project, the children’s book Who Are Your People?, was inspired by his twins, Sadie and Stokely, and aims to instill pride and historical awareness in young Black readers.

In addition to his legal work and writing, Bakari is the host of The Bakari Sellers Podcast—a platform where he explores topics like race, politics, and media with depth and candor.
