RFK Jr. is no longer just spreading conspiracy theories from the sidelines — he’s doing it from inside the federal government.
As Secretary of Health and Human Services, he now controls a massive public health apparatus. And he’s using that platform to promote discredited anti-vaccine claims and stigmatizing rhetoric — not evidence-based science.
This week, in response to a new study on autism diagnoses, RFK Jr. doubled down on the debunked and dangerous idea that vaccines are linked to autism. But what he said next was even more disturbing:
“These are kids who will never pay taxes. They'll never hold a job. They'll never play baseball. They'll never write a poem. They'll never go out on a date. Many of them will never use a toilet unassisted."
As a doctor, I find this deeply offensive, factually wrong, and profoundly harmful. Statements like this spread stigma, fuel misinformation, and undermine decades of progress in both public health and disability inclusion.
And the worst part? RFK Jr. is doing this with the authority of the federal government — and with zero pushback from Republicans in Congress. They won’t investigate. They won’t hold hearings. They won’t stand up to this administration’s abuses of power.
