Donald Trump is defying a 9-0 Supreme Court order to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back home.
I just returned from El Salvador, where I joined three other Democratic Members of Congress to advocate for the release and return of Kilmar. We made this trip to uphold the due process that every person in America is entitled to.
We need Democrats in Congress to fight like our Democracy depends on us, because it actually does. I have been doing my best to fight back against Trump and Elon Musk; to ensure that we are protecting Democracy; to protect the working class; and to protect our federal institutions from the hatchet that Trump and Elon Musk are taking to everything we hold dear as Americans.
The Trump administration and Republicans in Congress are testing the limits of our Democracy: denying due process, shredding our federal workforce, dismantling departments, cutting social programs like Medicaid and Social Security, starting trade wars with our allies, the list just goes on!
We can’t let them get away with this.
We’ll go wherever we need to go, and do whatever it takes to defend the rights of every person in this country and uphold the promise of America.
But we can’t do it alone.
This fight is far from over. With your help, we can keep the pressure on, demand accountability, and protect the rule of law before it’s too late.
Together, let’s make sure we protect what makes America the greatest Democracy in the world.
