RSVP now to a Justice for Kilmar event near you to show that we won’t accept Trump’s abuse of power!
Dear John,
Last month, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was abducted from his home and illegally deported to a notorious megaprison in El Salvador.1 The Supreme Court ruled that Kilmar’s abduction was unlawful and the Trump administration must work to bring him home, but the administration refuses.2
Senator Chris Van Hollen joined MoveOn’s Volunteer Network Call on Monday to report back from his trip to El Salvador to meet Kilmar. He shared, “This case is not about one man alone. It's about all of us. It's about our Constitution. It's about our right to due process. Because if you deny one person their constitutional rights, you threaten them for every other person who resides in the United States of America.”
Every representative should be taking action like this and demanding that Kilmar be brought home swiftly and safely.
Congress is in recess in their home districts this week—and MoveOn members across the nation are coming together to say NO to Trump’s horrific abuse of power and demand that their representatives take action to bring Kilmar home! Trump doesn’t get to rewrite the rule of law, trample the courts, and abduct our community members without expecting our resistance.
RSVP to join a local event in your community to come together peacefully and demand that Kilmar is brought home safely!
Trump is attacking our communities, disappearing our neighbors, and willingly disobeying the courts. In his three months in office, he has caused chaos and further division for our nation—but we can take action to let him know that we won’t sit on the sidelines while he uses his power to abduct and attack immigrants.
Every person who takes action makes it harder for Trump to push forward his agenda and harder for Republicans to ignore Trump’s blatant abuse of power.
Will you RSVP to join an event to demand justice for Kilmar?
Let’s show Trump and every member of Congress that we are not afraid and we won’t back down.
Thanks for all you do.
