I’m Shyam Raman, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia.

I’ll cut right to the chase – Virginia’s statewide elections in November 2025 are deeply important for retaining Democrats’ momentum as we enter a second Trump term. If successful, electing a strong Democratic governor and general assembly would be a key referendum on Trump and the GOP.

Not only that, but we have a responsibility to keep Virginia blue, as we’re the only state in the Southeast without strict restrictions on reproductive care.
