Friend -

This moment demands more than just good ideas—it demands that we show up consistently in spaces where not everyone shares our views, or has even heard them directly from us at all.

That’s why I sat down this week for a two hour conversation on the comedy podcast Flagrant—a show that hosted Donald Trump during the presidential campaign last year.

I know that a podcast with an almost all-male viewership, which prides itself on rejecting political correctness and is skeptical of all things “woke,” represents an audience which might not be inclined to give us the benefit of the doubt. That’s the point.

I’m under no illusions that every Flagrant viewer will see me once and suddenly agree with me politically—or even share my White Lotus hot takes—but I know how important it is to launch a different kind of conversation there.

The hosts told me they had tried but struggled to get progressive voices to come on, so I took the chance to bring in a different style and perspective than their audience is used to. It was a chance to make the case for my values and for what I think people across the spectrum should unite around: that our republic should never let one man, or handful of men, have too much power.

One thing that is clear from the last election is that our party must examine not only what we have to say—but how and where we say it.

That’s why you can count on me to keep showing up—anywhere there’s a chance to have a real conversation with anyone willing to engage.

That’s the work in front of us. And I’d be grateful to have your support as I continue in the days and months ahead. [[link removed]]
