We figured this was the case, but it’s stunning to see it confirmed.

Today, we learned that the Commander of CENT-COM communicated forthcoming strike details to the Secretary of Defense using secured systems, as required when communicating classified information like this. He did his job, and followed proper protocol.

SECDEF Pete Hegseth then copied, pasted, and sent that information to two Signal groups. One was the chat with The Atlantic reporter Jeffrey Goldberg and other national security officials, which we’ve known about for a month. The other was a personal chat which included his wife, his brother, and his personal lawyer, which we just learned about this week.

Hegseth leaked classified information — timelines, aircraft, weapon systems — to even more people who never should’ve had access to it.

He sent it just ten minutes after he received it from the CENT-COM Commander. He did not scrub mission critical details that could endanger the lives of the men and women in harm’s way. He used his personal cellphone to do it. And he did it just days after a member of his own staff warned him that Signal chats could be compromised by our adversaries.

This is OUTRAGEOUS.

Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified, incompetent, immature Secretary of Defense in the history of the United States. A literal pile of rocks would be a better option than this guy. VoteVets is going to do everything in our power to get him fired or force him out of the job. Lives are at stake, and it will only get worse from here.

Please, chip in anything you can afford so that VoteVets can continue the fight to defend the men and women of the United States Military against this. They deserve so much better, and we owe it to them to do the work now.
