Dear John,
If you’ve been watching the news, there’s plenty of things to hide from. And if you care about the environment, our communities, our people, you might wonder what’s left standing.
There's so many attacks on the environment from the current administration, including: cuts to EPA staff, rolling back bedrock clean air and water protections, attacks on environmental justice, pulling down climate and weather data, selling off our public lands, declaring an energy emergency to enable more dirty fossil fuel production, cutting wind energy opportunities, letting polluters off the hook, undercutting state’s rights to enact clean energy policies, and more.
It’s too much.
But here's one thing you can do today to take a meaningful stand for Earth Day: ask your congressperson to uphold our Clean Energy Tax Credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Right now, Congress is considering eliminating clean energy tax credits to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Unlike the tax cuts that only benefit the rich, these clean energy tax credits go toward helping everyday residents lower their energy bills, enjoy healthy, clean air, and prepare for natural disasters. These tax credits also benefit businesses, bringing new, clean jobs and factories to our state.
Tell your legislators to stand up for clean energy! [[link removed]]

P.S. And if the news is getting you down, step outside, go for a hike, spend some time in your garden. That’s what we’re fighting for.
