Our country is on the line. The Supreme Court has waged a two-pronged assault on our voting rights and our ability to rein in corporate greed. Here’s why those two go together:

Corporate power and corporate greed are anathema to personal freedom. When the people have a voice, they choose economic justice and personal freedoms―even when it costs billionaires money. So billionaires have worked to rig the system and shut us up so that they can do the things we don’t want them to.

Billionaires see Social Security’s $2.7 trillion trust fund and want to take it for themselves. It’s really that simple.

We need to rebuild our democratic systems in order to protect our Social Security system. No one bill can do it by itself. But we have to start somewhere.

As we fight the oligarchs in the White House, we must demand Congress pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and protect our freedoms! Demand Congress act today!

It’s a dark time in America right now. But almost a century ago, Social Security was born out of a similarly dark time. It takes all of us, working together, to build the country we want. It’s slow, and it’s frustrating, but it’s the only way that actually works.
